UKCA Plus

From UKCA

This group is a collaboration between the Met Office and UK universities that are involved in development or use of the UKCA model (UK Chemistry and Aerosol model). It is principally aimed at early stage career scientists working in the aerosol/chemistry/climate field(s). Although the UKCA model is at the heart of this network, you don't need to be a user to join. The UKCA network is open to all early career scientists with an interest in aerosol-chemistry-climate topics, including modelling and measurements.

The main aims of the group are:

- To facilitate interaction of early career UKCA scientists across UK institutions.

- To increase awareness of the breadth of UKCA science.

- To increase collaborative work.

- To provide a friendly multi-media atmosphere to get information, ask scientific and technical questions and to get help.

- To setup annual and other meetings for early career scientists to present and discuss their science with UK peers.

- To establish approachable points of contact for early career scientists at UKCA institutions.

- To additionally facilitate social events and interaction in a relaxed environment.

We hope to provide a useful “one-stop shop” for the UKCA community, that is both productive and enjoyable.
