UKCA: How to obtain the model

The UKCA model is available as a patch to the external Unified Model from vn6.6. This version runs the tropospheric chemistry model. The UKCA partners are now working on updating UKCA at vn7.1 in order to run the UKCA-MODE aerosol model with coupling to the UM radiation scheme for direct aerosol effects.

UKCA is now supported by the NCAS Computational Modelling Support service for UK academic users. Please contact Luke Abraham for information as to how to obtain and use the model.

The document UKCA_at_vn6.6.pdf (pdf file) describes available facilities and setup for UKCA at vn6.6. Please contact the Met Office for a UKCA patch.
